Budget Impact Analyses

Assessment of the financial impact of new therapy options on payers’ budgets, considering cost changes and potential savings.

Cost-Effectiveness Analyses

Evaluation of the costs of an intervention compared to its benefits in order to determine the cost-to-benefit ratio in monetary and natural units. The result allows for assessing cost-effectiveness in comparison to a reference value.

Cost-Benefit Analyses

Presentation and comparison of the costs and benefits of an intervention in monetary terms.

Cost-Utility Analyses

Presentation and comparison of the costs and benefits of an intervention, measured in life years gained and quality of life (QALYs = Quality-Adjusted Life Years). The result is expressed in costs per QALY gained.

Efficiency Frontier Method

Presentation and comparison of the costs and benefits of an intervention, measured in life years or QALYs. The results are graphically represented using an efficiency frontier to identify interventions that offer the best cost-benefit ratio. Interventions on the efficiency frontier are considered optimal, while those below are considered inefficient as they provide less benefit for the same cost.

Cost-Consequence Analyses

Listing and comparison of all direct and indirect costs, as well as the various outcomes of an intervention. No specific preference is assigned to any cost approach or outcome measure. Instead of a single cost-outcome ratio, the decision-maker is responsible for assessing the relative importance of costs and outcomes.

Health Consumption and Resource Use (HCRU) Analyses

Measurement of healthcare resource utilization by an intervention or patient group. HCRU analyses quantify demand and help to assess the cost-efficiency of treatments.

Determination of costs within a specific indication, considering various types of expenses.

Real-World Data Analyses

Collection and evaluation of healthcare data from everyday clinical practice. Examination of actual outcomes using various data sources to assess long-term effects, treatment patterns, and therapy effectiveness in a real-world patient population.

Cohort Analyses

Collection and assessment of healthcare costs within a defined patient group over a certain period of time to compare cost patterns and differences across treatment groups while evaluating long-term financial effects.
